I really want to re-watch this anime but I'm unable to remember the title of it. The story is mainly about a vampire that falls in love with a samurai. I remember that the samurai gets his head cut off during the first couple episodes(and through out the series) but the vampire keeps him alive by giving him some pseudo immortality by switching his head with a different body, only catch is, he doesn't have the memory's of his previous life's when his head is attached, however when its not he does have them. It has various scenes where its just the vampire and head talking. It has lots of cool swordplay and fights. Despite everything I remember and lots of searches on animenewsnetwork im still unable to find it. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the vampire male or female? If male, is it a full-on yaoi series or shounen-ai?
Is the art style older or modern?

So far, all I have found is this:
http://www.animevice.com/vampiresamurai/10-994/, but I will keep looking.

The vampire is female. And its a newer series. At least it seems so, since not many animes are of that quality.

I can add that, it sort of chronicles the samurai's life as he goes from body to body, searching for the vampire. Every now and then you see some of his past, many a times where its just his head talking to her.
It also spans many years, going from an Edo like period to a post-apocalyptic type future.

It was nothing. Just a quick Google search on some keywords.

Which ones, may I ask? I tried all of the obvious ones and they still gave me hell! (And thank you for finding it.)

I did "Vampire anime decapitation"
It gave me a link to a list of vampire anime.

http://www.vampires.be/index.php?title=Vampire_Anime_Series
I scanned that list and found one I didn't recognize, so I checked it out.

...
Kurozuka is An Underrated anime, I don't know why people underrated this anime
though We have Paku Romi that voiced Kuromitsu, voiced by her so good.

while the immortality theme also can you see in Blade: The Immortal setting place in Samurai Era, I'd recommend to read the manga than the anime
Its Epic Artwork, not using G-pen, but more like using standard pencil to me...
