Just has some extra stuff you might need to know. It's shorter but still good to read.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
***Things you need to know about Uploading, Pictures, and the Galleries***
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Things you can't upload on Advanced
*No sexual content.
*No nude with nipple or any genitalia showing.
*No blacklisted artists.
*No screen captures.
*No photographs (see below) or altered images (discludes wallpapers).
What are the uploading restrictions on Advanced?
*You can only upload 5 pictures every 24 hours.
*You can also only upload 250 max regardless of how many days and hours have gone by.
What are the Member Art Galleries?
*These are meant solely for your own work that you made from scratch. If you post someone elses work in here, you may end up banned for art theft.
What is the difference between Commercial, Fanart and Original?
*Commercial art is work done by artists for companies whom produce games, shows and other for profit projects
*Fanart is an image of a well known character (such as Naruto or Inuyasha) that is not drawn by it's creator or company who owns them, but rather a fan.
*Original is works you will never see anywhere else drawn by an independant artist whom comes up with an image from scratch, from character detail to background imagery.
What is a Screenshot/Screen Cap?
A screenshot or capture is an image taken directly from a given show. If you suspect the image you want to upload is a screenshot, it may be best not to post it. Though it is hard to tell often times. One way to tell is the image is often grainy or horrible quality (which really shouldn't be posted on AA anyway).
Why no photographs?
Because this site is for anime only, this counts even if the photo has anime in it (such as a toy or an image pasted onto a photo).
What is the Blacklist?
*The blacklist is a list of artists and websites that have asked that their art not be uploaded.
*Anyone that uploads blacklisted work will have it removed. Do it on purpose and you will get banned.
*A list of blacklisted artists can be found in policies.
Credits
*If you have the artist’s website then you can post it and it can be rated or if it is your own work, choose the option stating it is and you're username will be entered automatically into the credit.
*If you don't know who the artist is just put "Where is this from."
*Hosting sites do not count as a proper credit.
Galleries
*For a complete list about what pictures fit in which galleries, please see the Gallery Guide.
How do I resize my pictures?
*This is a link Moosandra provide that takes you to a program that you can download and use to resize your picture for you as well as change the format to .jpeg,.jpg - http://www.irfanview.com *Note that this website is in no way affiliated with Advanced Anime (or it's related sites), use it with discretion.
I saw a picture I liked, where can I find it again?
*If you saw a picture in the galleries or are just looking for a picture with certain qualities there is a sticky thread that will always be up there.
If you post your request there people will help. If you make a new thread, people will get upset with you and the topic will just be deleted by an admin. Unfortunately, this is the only route, the site does not keep archieves.
Original and Fanart
*When it comes to original and fanart works that do not belong to you, and are not on the blacklist, they may only be posted in spirit of finding the source. once you have the source, you must delete the image from the site.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
***Things you need to know about the Forum***
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Forum Etiquette
*Role-playing is not allowed on the forums, you may discuss about role-playing, but actively role-playing will get you a suspension and the thread deleted or locked.
Why can't we talk about religion and politics?
*Due to conflicting views on both Religion and Politics both subjects should avoided. The majority of the board can not discuss either and stay nice so it is best to not post anything relating to these subjects.
Double-posting:
*Don't double post. Simply edit the last one you made if you have more to say. Most of us when we edit our posts put EDIT and then the added text after it. If you just need to fix grammar or spelling errors then don't worry about it and if you edit it and don't put that we won't care but if you've added it after someone else posted it helps. If you accidently doubleposted and want the post deleted, just ask an admin (and give them the link and page number).
CAPS:
*The use of all CAPS should be avoided. It's rude, can be considered yelling, flaming or simply offend someone depending on the content.
Chatting:
*This is a forum so it may take a while for someone to post a reply. Please keep this in mind and don't try to chat in the forum. It's against the rules. Be patient. We'll get to you eventually.
Personal Information:
*Do not give out personal information or ask for someone else’s personal information. This is something you should not do on the internet. This includes (but not limited to) your full name, address, phone number and passwords to your accounts. Even the admins do not need your password or personal information, if someone is trying to get it by posing as one of us, report them.
Personal Ads:
*This is not a dating service so don't make little personal ads to try and get a date (this includes your member profile). Use OKCupid.com or something.
What is not okay to discuss on the forum?
*Some topics are not good to discuss, others just don't get a warm welcome. Take the time to just glance through the older threads and see what's been done already.
Ex.
-Remaking a locked thread for any reason (this could get your account suspended).
-Gallery requests (this is against the rules).
-Starting a thread that could be found a few pages back if you just looked can also be frowned upon.
-Threads that could easily be deemed "pointless", please put some thought into it when you wish to create a new thread.
-Role-playing is NOT permitted on the forums under any circumstances.
-Chatting is not allowed on the forums, if you really want to chat with someone, please refer to the sticky called "Find a Friend"
What's a sticky?
*On the forum there are two kinds of threads. Sticky and regular threads. Sticky threads are important threads that will always be at the top and while the other threads get pushed back as the most recent replied to ones go on top Sticky threads won't move.
*Only a Admin or Sub-admin can sticky a thread. Sticky threads are important so if you see a thread with (S) next to it, read it.

**Everything Else**
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Profile
*Moosandra created an html tutorial to help you out with that including how to put backgrounds up.
*General site rules apply to this area, do not use vulgar language, inappropriate or adult content (on either Advanced or Affair) in your profile.
Private Messages
*Please use discretion when sending a message to someone, if they find it offensive, you may get in trouble for it.
*Do not send chain letters through PMs.
*Do not use the PMs as your dating service. It's not what they are for.
*Do not send PMs to members who have told you they do not wish to receive PMs from you. This is considered harassment. Most times, a members profile will state what kind of PM's they don't like getting, please respect their wishes.
*Do not send random friend requests to anyone, this will result in suspension.
*Chain letters are not allowed. If you get one, report it.
Guestbooks
Guest books are for the members to leave polite comments for each other. Same thing goes for these as the PM's, if someone asks for something not to be posted on their guestbook, please respect it.
Fan-Fiction:
*If you have written a fan fiction for something that is not on the upload list, feel free to contact one of the admins and suggest it.

**Adminstration**

What can I do to help?
At the bottom of every page is a link that says "Report this page", click on that and it will bring you to a new page. On that new page will be a text box with lots of space to explain the issue, please be as detailed as possible.
What to do:
*If a piece is blacklisted, tell us what artist it is (preferably as the name appears on the blacklist).
*If a member is being harassing, please give us the name(s) of the member in question and quote what they said (with all URL's, do NOT delete PM's).
What not to do:
*Please do not try and police the site yourself (this means anything including giving credit info, telling a member something is blacklisted, replying to rude or flamitory comments). This has caused much confusion and problems in the past and is best left for the admins to take care of. I've also seen a number of stuff be misinformed (such as people going around saying deviantart is blacklisted when it has never been). If you see someone doing this, please report them so we may take appropriate actions.
Restrictions
*If you find yourself restricted, you may not send PM's to anyone but the admins; this is a priviledge, do not abuse it. In the PM, you will get the reason why you were restricted and how long it will last. This is automated, please do not send a PM telling us your time is up. The site will do this itself when you're time is up, down to the second.
*Do not send vulgar PM's to the admins, this will only result in longer restriction, perhaps even a ban.
*Making a second account to get around the restriction will get you banned, no questions asked.
*Admins are not responsible for your actions, we do not ban or restrict for no reason, there is always a reason, no matter what is claimed from the the member restricted. This is also not any other members business, so asking us about a friends restriction will result in a simple PM saying it's not your business, so don't bother asking.
Non-AAnimeNetwork Related Information
*Advanced Anime is not responsible for any off-site content, including (but not limited to) chats, forums and any general links you may find posted on the forums. We admins are not responsible for moderating them.
*If you have more questions or are confused on something you can PM one of the Sub-Admins and ask them about it. Welcome to AA and enjoy your stay. :)
